Nestled in the archipelago landscapes of Vestmannaeyjar, Iceland, Laxey is pioneering a new era in sustainable aquaculture. As one of Iceland's first large-scale land-based salmon farming initiative, Laxey is setting a global benchmark for environmentally conscious seafood production.

Their state-of-the-art facilities include a RAS smolt station with 99% water reuse, on-site freshwater production via reverse osmosis (RO) systems, and a hybrid flow-through system for grow-out operations. The grow-out system reuses up to 70% of water and runs entirely on renewable energy. By utilizing clean seawater from deep boreholes and eliminating the use of antibiotics, Laxey ensures optimal fish welfare and biosecurity. Their ambitious goal is to produce up to 42,000 tonnes of premium Atlantic salmon annually, positioning them as a leader in responsible aquaculture practices.

Laxey is integrating LearnCove to enhance training, digitize daily operations, and streamline inspection readiness across its facilities.
